Yes, All concrete cracks. Because of movements of the soil beneath, concrete slabs will eventually crack (Concrete shrinks in the drying/curing process and cracks are almost impossible to avoid, small hairlines cracks or smaller than 1/4 of an inch are cosidered common) . That is why control joints are crucial. We cut control joints into the slab down to about a quarter of its depth in order to anticipate and direct any future cracks. We also lay gravel as a subbase after compacting existing soil subgrade. Also #3 rebar is placed into the slab to prevent slab from shifting and cracks from growing wider. A high quality concrete mix (4000psi) will increase durability.
Stamped Concrete is concrete that has been imprinted, textured, or embossed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, wood, or various other patterns and textures. A wide variety of color hardeners and releases are also used to give stamped concrete a more natural and realistic look.
Stamped Concrete will require some routine cleaning and maintenance depending on exposure conditions and the type and amount of traffic it receives. We recommend to reseal stamped concrete every 2 years to protect colors from fading and to keep your patio looking like new for years. (We offer reseal service, crack repair , patching and color touch up!)
Subgrade needs to be compacted with a mechanical temper, after compacting existing subgrade a layer of gravel (2inches or as needed) needs to be spread out evenly and compacted again with flat-plate mechanical compactor. This step is very important, keeps/helps slab from sinking or sometimes pumping. A good soil prep will reduce/prevent slab from cracking.
We build on trust, we require NO MONEY DOWN for any project. We accept Checks, Cash or Credit Cards.
Yes, Its purpose is to increase the tensile strength of the concrete, rebar helps cracks from growing wider and prevents cracked slabs from moving apart. We place rebar in a square grid pattern with a spacing between bars of approximately 24 inches.
The ONE-YEAR warranty covers, replacing concrete sections that have settled and are causing drainage problems, cracks that are wider than 1/4 of an inch wide. surface flaking or popping, color fading if decorative/stamped finished.
Yes, All Available patterns and up to 5 color blends are included in the stamped concrete price.
We offer both installations. Although both materials are similar in appearance and durability, they vary in terms of installation time, decorative options, cost, and maintenance. Each option offers different advantages, depending on your needs. Installing pavers takes more time than pouring concrete due to the steps involved in the proper subgrade and subbase prep. Stamped concrete offers more options when it comes to custom design, color choices and patterns, with pavers you are stuck with color, size and shape of material. Most of the time Stamped Concrete will be your most economical option. Stamped Concrete can seem more expensive to repair, but is less likely to sink if done properly than pavers, while pavers are placed piece by piece to form a slab and in many cases will start sinking even if done the proper soil prep due to water getting in-between sand joints, A Concrete slab with proper pitch will direct the water away from your home and off the slab never allowing water to damage subbase. Stamped concrete will require routine cleaning and can be sealed ever few years to enhance/maintain colors and minimize surface damage, if well maintain your stamped concrete can have a new/wet look for years. pavers will also require routine cleaning, you will need to replenish the sand joints every 2 years (recommended) to prevent weed growth.
